Equipment
- mixing bowls You'll need bowls for different components, such as one for the mascarpone mixture and another for the coffee soaking liquid
- Electric Mixer To whip the egg yolks, egg whites, and mascarpone cheese. A hand micer or a stand micer with the whisk attachment works well
- Whisk For combining ingredients, particularly for the egg yolks
- Spatula or Mixing Spoon For folding the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture
- Rectangular Dish or Trifle Dish Tiramisu is often assembled in layers, so having a rectangular dish or trifle dish makes it easier to layer the ingredients
- Baking Dish or Pan To brew the strong coffee or espresso used for saoking the ladyfings
- Dipping Tool or Tongs To quickly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee without making them too soggy
- Plastic Wrap To cover and chill the tiramisu in the refrigerator
- Dusting Tools (Optional) Some people like to dust cocoa powder or grated chocolate on top of the finished tiramisu. A fine-mesh sieve or sifter can be useful for this
- Plates or Glasses for Serving Tiramisu is often served in individual portions. Have plates or glasses ready for serving
